"And [remember] when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed, and made them testify of themselves, [He asked]: "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes, we testify!" Lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Of this we were unaware."

"In this verse is revealed the primordial pact, in which every soul, before its birth, was made to declare its recognition of the Divine Existence and Unity. It means that within the heart of heart of every human being there lies that which has already recognized its Lord. This consciousness is retrievable in this world and this is why all the Divine Messengers were sent, one after another, to arouse it from its veiled and dormant state."
